Victims of priests win Pounds 15m;In brief
OVERSEAS NEWS

Washington: A group of sex abuse victims has been awarded $25.7 million (Pounds 15.6 million) against the Louisville, Kentucky Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church.. It was the biggest payout by a division of the Church in the 20-year history of molestation actions in the United States. Announcing the settlement on Tuesday, Archbishop Thomas Kelly told the 243 victims in the class action: "I apologise again for what we did or failed to do that led to your abuse." A bishop and 38 priests were involved in the abuse over five decades at Catholic schools in the area. A court will adjust individual awards to reflect the severity of abuse and the victim's age.
