- Synopsis of the Case -
Louisville lawyer, Norman "Nick" Belker, agreed to pay $30,000.00 to each of five women represented by William F. McMurry. Each woman was a former client of Belker and accused Belker of molesting them under the guise of the need to perform "physical examinations" in connection with their personal injury cases.
Belker was first accused of molesting clients in the early '80s, but the KBA's Board of Governors rejected the allegations. William F. McMurry who represented the Plaintiffs said he is confident that the Kentucky Bar Association and the state Supreme Court will impose a severe sanction. "We certainly are convinced that the steps taken in the settlement of this lawsuit will insure that Nick Belker will no longer have the tool he has had to abuse women -- the license to practice law in this Commonwealth," McMurry said.
